There’s something universally understood about a workplace anniversary. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a startup of ten people or a private healthcare network spanning more than 50 hospitals – when a milestone rolls around, you mark it. You gather the people who helped build it, you acknowledge the hard work that got you there and, ideally, you feed everyone something worth showing up for.
Circle Health Group knows a thing or two about milestones. Founded back in 2004 by clinicians and healthcare entrepreneurs, the organisation has grown into one of the UK’s largest private healthcare providers, serving around two million patients worldwide with plans to keep expanding. That kind of growth doesn’t happen without serious dedication from the people behind it, so when a big milestone – like a birthday – approaches, it deserves a proper celebration.
Tracy from the Merseyside team clearly agreed, because she was straight on the phone to Hog Roast Merseyside to get things sorted.
Catering manager Sam took the lead on the day and delivered exactly the kind of spread the occasion called for – our Gourmet BBQ menu, which is one of those lineups that manages to feel both relaxed and impressive at the same time. Juicy homemade 100% British beef burgers, Thai chicken kebabs and BBQ pork formed the main event, with crispy homemade fries served with salt, vinegar and sauces alongside pasta salad and creamy coleslaw rounding everything out. Colleagues who don’t eat meat weren’t left staring disappointedly at a limp salad either – our veggie sausages and grilled vegetable skewers with optional halloumi made sure of that.
There was nothing overcomplicated, and nothing that tried too hard with this menu. Just genuinely good food cooked to perfection and served to a team that had earned every bite of it.
That’s the thing about a good workplace celebration – it doesn’t need to be elaborate to land well. It just needs to feel well thought out. Like someone actually cares about the people attending rather than ticking a box. Circle Health Group clearly values its staff, and the choice to bring in Hog Roast Merseyside rather than reach for a standard buffet option said that loud and clear.
