Birthdays are the ultimate excuse to get everyone together, catch up on all the gossip, and overindulge in rich food! And when it came to celebrating her mum’s big 6-0, Lucy pulled off an absolute blinder of a surprise party at none other than Low Hall The Lakes.
If you haven’t been to this little slice of heaven in the Lake District, let us paint you a picture. Imagine a charming 17th-century farmhouse, tucked away down a winding country lane, surrounded by rolling green hills and a babbling creek. It’s the kind of place that looks like it’s straight out of a fairy tale. Inside, the magic continues with rustic stone walls, wooden beams wrapped in fairy lights, and the kind of cosy atmosphere that makes you want to move in permanently. Honestly, Lucy couldn’t have picked a better spot for the big day.
With 44 eager guests huddled together, whispering excitedly and trying (and mostly failing) to contain their excitement, the anticipation was sky-high. And then – boom! The door swung open, Lucy’s mum walked in, and the whole room erupted in cheers. Her reaction? A mix of pure shock, overwhelming joy, and the slightly dazed expression of someone who just walked into the best surprise ever. Mission accomplished.
Of course, no legendary party is complete without an equally legendary feast, and that’s where we stepped in. And because we believe everyone deserves a plate piled high with deliciousness, we made sure our veggie and vegan friends were just as spoiled with juicy grilled vegetable and halloumi kebabs, fluffy flatbreads and creamy tzatziki.
