A Sizzling Celebration for Little Luna – Christening Joy and Hog Roast Southport Delights!

Hog Roast SouthportLast weekend, the Hog Roast Southport team had the absolute pleasure of catering a truly special celebration here in Merseyside – the christening of Jordan and Fiona’s beautiful daughter, Luna. And what a day it was! One of those perfect spring afternoons you always cross your fingers for: warm sunshine, a soft breeze, and not a single rain cloud in sight.

We were the first to arrive at the light and airy events suite of a local hotel, ready to get to work our culinary magic long before the first guest arrived. Jordan and Fiona had chosen our ever-popular Alfresco Menu for the occasion. So, without delay, we fired up the spit and began slow-roasting the star of the show – a whole hog – until it was golden, juicy, and so tender the meat practically fell apart at the prod of a fork.

As the irresistible aroma began to drift through the venue, the atmosphere quickly transformed. Seventy-five guests soon poured in, full of energy and ready to celebrate little Luna’s big day. And when it came time to carve, it was clear the wait had been worth it. Perfectly cooked pork, delightfully crispy crackling, and a generous spoonful of our homemade applesauce proved to be a winning combo!

Our sage and onion stuffing was another crowd-pleaser – light, fluffy, and full of flavour. Guests didn’t hold back, piling it high on their plates. And for those who preferred a meat-free option? Our BBQ-pulled jackfruit rolls were a surprise hit – rich, smoky, and so satisfying they even won over a few curious meat-eaters.

Hog Roast SouthportThe feast continued with a vibrant spread of sides. Lemony coleslaw, rosemary and garlic roasted new potatoes, crisp seasonal leaves, and a heritage tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad that looked every bit as good as it tasted. Hog Roast Southport also made sure each table was centred with tempting grazing platters, overflowing with Italian meats, cheeses, olives, grapes, and crusty breads that were ideal for relaxed snacking, chatting, and sharing over drinks.

To finish, we served up light, summery desserts: creamy cheesecakes and colourful summer puddings that offered the perfect sweet ending to a sun-soaked afternoon.

It was a joy for Hog Roast Southport to be part of such a happy, heartfelt occasion. From the delicious food to the warm company, the day was packed with moments to remember.
