Over the last few years, the UK has witnessed a huge surge in the number of people interested in watching women’s football, which most recently saw the UEFA Women’s Championship Final pull in views from more than 17.4 million British households, making it the single most-watched women’s football match in our country’s history! Among those who tuned in to watch England’s Lionesses take on Germany’s Die Nationalelf (a.k.a. The National Eleven) in the nail-biting finale were Amanda and her family.
As a huge footie fan, Amanda was over the moon when England made it into the finals, and she had planned an elaborate party to celebrate the monumental occasion. In the lead-up to the event she had put together, more than 45 invitees had confirmed their attendance, which set Amanda a new task: sorting out an incredible feast that everyone would be able to appreciate!
After toying around with a few different ideas and realising that each one would involve too much work on her part, as the host, Amanda set out to find a professional catering service that was both high-quality and affordable. You know where this is going, don’t you? Yes, she found Hog Roast Norris Green, and realising that we checked all of her boxes – and then some – she hired our team to serve one of our wonderful menus!
With help from Hog Roast Norris Green’s catering manager, Sam, Amanda had picked our Southern Slow Roast Menu for this occasion, which saw our team serve a lip-smacking buffet of Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens, BBQ pork butt and fall-off-the-bone Louisiana sticky pork ribs with a vegan option of BBQ pulled jackfruit buns to the ravenous guests! The mains were served with some sumptuous sides, including our signature coleslaw, mac and cheese and creamy potato salad.
While perched on the edge of their seats, Amanda’s guests happily indulged in the gorgeous dishes that Hog Roast Norris Green had prepared, which were so delicious many of the guests helped themselves to seconds and thirds. The occasion was made even better when the Lionesses brought it home by scoring 2 epic goals against their German rivals, which had Amanda and her guests cheering and jumping around in excitement!
