With the Euros final falling on a Sunday evening, many workplaces are closed for the weekend. However, some establishments such as pubs, restaurants, bars, and supermarkets are still expected to open as usual. When England made it to the finals, a Liverpool based cocktail bar named Eden’s decided to something a little bit different for their staff…
After receiving very few bookings for the Sunday evening, the manager of the cocktail bar, Sophie, decided to close for the evening and allow her staff to watch the football on their large TV with friends and family. This was great news for the staff since it meant they could properly enjoy the game in an exciting atmosphere, while also getting to enjoy a night off from work. Not only this, but Sophie had also contacted Hog Roast Maghull to book some delicious catering for the evening as a reward for her staff’s hard work throughout the previous Euros matches.
On the day of the match, Hog Roast Maghull arrived at the cocktail bar with plenty of time to cook and prepare our dishes. Sophie had ordered our classic slow-roasted pig menu, with a few additional side dishes. To begin with, we roasted our pig to perfection, making sure to lock in the natural juices and flavours. While this was taking place, we prepared the salad dishes, mac and cheese, sweet potato fries, and fresh bread rolls and wraps.
The dishes were served buffet style to the guests at 7:30, with leftovers plated up for grazing on throughout the evening. The guests loved the surprise of being treated to a delicious meal, and it created a great atmosphere for the match!
