Friday night brought lots of excitement for Merseyside locals, who, thanks to Molly’s outstanding event-planning skills, enjoyed an evening of live music, great company and insanely good food, served by yours truly!
Throwing it back to the swinging sixties and paying homage to one of the greatest musical talents to come out of Liverpool, Molly had organised a Beatles tribute band to perform a gig at a local community hall in the hopes of showing people a wonderful time and raising vital funds for charity. After posting about the event online several weeks ago, Molly was delighted to see an immediate interest from locals, which led to the event selling out of tickets fairly quickly.
With almost 400 guests to please, Molly was even more relieved that she had secured Hog Roast Wallasey’s services for the evening well in advance! And with our catering manager, Sam, by her side to help Molly through every step of the way, the client was able to keep a cool head and enjoy the lead-up to the fundraiser with little stress.
The weeks, as they so often do, whizzed by, and before Sam knew it, he and the Hog Roast Wallasey team were setting up the catering equipment in Molly’s chosen venue. To avoid taking any attention away from the band or getting in the way of the guests, the buffet table was set up at the back of the hall, which made the food convenient for everyone to access.
The menu itself was a relatively simple one. Molly had asked for us to serve our Classic Hog Roast Menu, which saw our team transform one of our weightiest pigs into an astonishing banquet of fork-tender pulled pork, crispy crackling with perfect bubbles, savoury sage and onion stuffing and applesauce. The guests had the choice of enjoying this signature combo on gluten-free rolls or on a plate with coleslaw, chips and salad, while the non-meat-eaters were given the option of digging into our pulled BBQ jackfruit rolls.
Hog Roast Wallasey’s food was as much a hit as the epic music performance, which led to everyone having a wonderful evening! Not only that, but Molly’s efforts paid off, and she was able to smash her financial target, which has since been donated to charity.
