At Hog Roast Knowsley Park, we know how important it is to open with a bang, and one way to do this is to host a fantastic grand opening on your first day. In a town in Merseyside, a local community centre has been closed for the last year due to budget cuts. After a charity fundraiser was started, the centre was able to reopen and experienced a full makeover to reinvent the centre and boost its appeal. To get off to a good start, Hog Roast Knowsley Park has been hired to provide catering for the centre’s grand opening, in the form of a delicious and family-friendly buffet menu. The menu needed to be suitable for guests of all ages and include plenty for 200 guests to enjoy. After looking through our menus, our catering manager Sam was hired to provide our gourmet BBQ menu, as it is the most versatile option.
On the day of the grand opening, the Hog Roast Knowsley Park team arrived in advance of the 3:00pm opening time, giving ourselves plenty of time to prepare and cook the menu. The centre was being decorated with banners and balloons while our team got to work grilling the main dishes. We prepared succulent sausages, juicy British beef burgers, halloumi and vegetable skewers, marinated chicken kebabs, and BBQ spareribs. Alongside the mains, we also served a variety of delicious sides, including fresh chips, sweet potato fries, seasonal salad dishes, fresh bread rolls, corn cobettes, and crunchy coleslaw. This created a delicious menu and there was something for every guest to enjoy!
