If you’re superstitious, then you might believe that the number ”13” is fraught with bad luck and that Friday the 13th is even unluckier still! But there are those out there who embrace these bizarre holidays, even going as far as to celebrate them in their own unique ways…
Take one of our more recent clients, Ryan, for instance. He has always been obsessed with life’s spookier activities and was over the moon when he discovered that his 30th birthday was to fall on what has for centuries been dubbed the unluckiest day of the year. To Ryan, his birthday couldn’t have arrived on a more fitting day, so he resolved to organise a party that matched the theme perfectly.
In the run-up to the celebration, which took place earlier this month, he began brainstorming ideas for decorations, entertainment and, the most important thing in our book, the food, and being a massive fan of hog roasts, Ryan had asked Hog Roast Freshfield to cover the catering for the event. He was delighted to discover that our catering manager, Sam, was all ears when it came to hearing out his plans for the day – even throwing in helpful suggestions here and there, which Ryan loved.
And so, eventually, with our team’s guidance, Ryan had ended up choosing our super delicious Southern Slow Roast Menu for the occasion, which brings together a trio of butter-soft marinated meats with a punch-packing flavour, boozy barbeque sauces and an unbeatable selection of side dishes.
Sam and the Hog Roast Freshfield team spent hours working on the food for Ryan’s event. Meanwhile, the client hung up horror decorations around the house and set out a tray of Jason Voorhees style cupcakes, blood splatter balloons and a mini ”tattoo bar” where guests could get inked with Friday the 13th-inspired temporary tatts.
Ryan had thought of everything, and the delicious spread of BBQ pork butt, Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens and Louisiana sticky pork ribs tied the evening together perfectly. The guests had a blast indulging in Hog Roast Freshfield’s delightful buffet and downing Ryan’s themed cocktails, which put everyone in high spirits.
